Welcome to the Friends of the trails in New Garden Township. As part of the adopted Township's Greenways and Trail Plan a group of over 150 volunteers, known as "Friends of the New Garden Trails", completed the Laurel Woods Trail the Mill Race Trail,  and the Landenberg Junction Trail. Use this website to explore the ongoing building of public trails throughout New Garden Township.

Mission Statement
Friends of the New Garden Trails is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to the creation, preservation and protection of public trails in New Garden Township. We volunteer our time and talents to develop, improve and maintain trails and to conduct relevant educational programs.

Thanks to the volunteers and groups who have helped make the trails possible. In particular, the Friends of the Trails would like to acknowledge:

– The E. Kneale Dockstader Foundation for their financial support.
– Dave Rickerman of Rickerman Tree Service for donated time and service, equipment and materials for the construction of the trails.
– New Garden Township Supervisors and Township employees for their time and support.
– Wesley Schwarz (Mill Race Trail boardwalk), Tyler Storr (Mill Race Trail kiosk and road signs), and Matt Schmittle (eight trail benches) for their Eagle Scout Projects.
– Pennsylvania Department of Convservation and Natural Resources.
– The White Clay Watershed Association.
